Telugu Barasala Invitation - Create Your Baby Naming Ceremony Card in Minutes

Ammamma has already started asking, "Card ready ayyinda?" The purohit has given the muhurtham, the relatives list is growing, and somewhere in between feeding and sleepless nights, you need to make an invitation.

This is where Invitation Bazaar helps. Open a design, type your details in English, and watch it turn into neat Telugu. Add your little one's photo, place things where you like, and download a card you can print for elders and share on WhatsApp with everyone else. All from your phone, in a few minutes.

Make Your Baby's Barasala Invitation in Telugu

In Telugu homes, Barasala is the day a baby officially gets a name. Most families hold it on the 21st day after birth, and often at the mother's parents' house, where she stays after delivery. The name is written on rice in a plate with a gold ring, whispered into the baby's ear, and then the baby is placed in the uyyala for the first time while elders sing laali paatalu.

Because naming and the cradle ritual happen on the same day, people call it Barasala, Naming Ceremony, Cradle Ceremony or Uyyala function. All mean the same celebration.

For many families, the Barasala card is also the first place the baby's name appears in writing. That makes it worth a little care.

What You Can Do with Our Card Maker

Every single thing on the card moves. Text, photos and stickers can all be dragged and dropped anywhere, so no template forces you into a fixed layout.

Typing Telugu is as simple as typing the sound in English. "Barasala" becomes బారసాల and "ashirvadam" becomes ఆశీర్వాదం. You can then pick from over 50 font styles and change colours until the card looks right.

For photos, upload as many as you want and choose round, square or rectangle frames. You can even set a photo, like the decorated uyyala or your family together, as the full background of the card.

When you're done, download it as an HD image or a print-ready PDF.

Free and Premium Templates, Simply Explained

Most families start with a free template, and that is often all they need. You get full text editing, all 50+ fonts, colour changes, drag and drop, and a clean HD or PDF download.

Families usually move to premium when they want a bit more on the card: an extra text box for grandparents' and uncles' names, a QR code for the venue map, RSVP or a live video link, or stickers like Gods, cradles, flowers and emojis.

Common Mistakes on Barasala Cards (and How to Avoid Them)

  • Spelling the baby's name wrongly in Telugu. Names with ottulu and gunintalu, like "Sri Vaishnavi" or "Karthikeya", can come out slightly different when typed. Always show the name to an elder before downloading, and fix any letter with a tap.
  • Font too small for elders. A card that looks fine on your phone may be hard for Thatayya to read on paper. Increase the size of the date, time and venue.
  • Missing landmark. Especially if the function is at your parents' house in another town, write a landmark along with the address, or add a location QR code.
  • QR code too small. If you're printing, keep the QR code at least the size of a thumbnail so phones can scan it easily.

Planning a Card in Another Language?

If some of your relatives or friends read another language better, you can make the same invitation for them too.

Liked the look of your Barasala card? Many parents use a similar design style when the first birthday comes, so both cards feel like part of the same story. Our Telugu Birthday Invitation come with the same editor, photos, stickers and QR codes.
